SPOTLIGHT ON
ARTISTS AT WORK
Have you been out to Market Hall lately? If not, you might want to make sure to get there in June. There’s a lot going on in Market Hall during the Total Home & Gift Market, and it’s a great venue for nding one-of-a-kind and artisan products—from jewelry and accessories to furniture and antiques— many of them Cash & Carry.
You might nd an artist like Page Gregory Matthews when you visit. This 25-year-old, who hails from Houston and started selling her jewelry to local shops way back when she was in high school continues to expand her business, especially after she fell in love with painting. Matthews has o ered her handmade jewelry, handbags and custom paintings through retail trunk shows and designers. She debuted jewelry and handbags at January’s Total Home & Gift Market, and was thrilled with the reception to her line, she said. “This market was a real learning experience for me,” Matthews said. She added that she’s already had a number of reorders from retailers she met in January, which has been exciting. “It was interesting to see how my style translates outside of Texas—which retailers gravitated to which styles and designs,” she added.
Matthews continued that Market Hall was the perfect venue for showcasing her artwork. “There was a really good ow of buyers all the time, unique clients from all over the country,” she said.
In June, make sure to stop by Market Hall MHMH 1-6576-ACC and meet Page Gregory Matthews—she’ll be live painting—and all of the other amazing exhibitors and artisans there too!
